Maricopa Maidens

Amongst the sage and sand of the Western frontier, there arises a most singular and commendable sight: a full company of lady ballists, known to all as the Maricopa Maidens. Founded in 2022 and said to be the first assemblage of its kind in the Territory, these spirited young women have not only taken to the base ball grounds with uncommon zeal, but have proven themselves fierce and able competitors.

Clad in attire reminiscent of the lady professionals of the 1940s, yet ever faithful to the rules of 1860s play, the Maidens, captained by the ever-formidable Miss Michelle “Roxxy” Shaw, conduct themselves with honor and grit, drawing throngs of curious and devoted spectators wherever they go.

Indeed, it is no stretch to say that the Maidens have done much to advance the cause of fair sport in this young land, and in so doing, have earned the admiration of players and patrons alike.
